• Operated his own practice with the main focus on dairy cattle farming from 1978 to 2001
• Founded and directed the Austrian Training and Consultancy Centre for Cattle Husbandry in 2002
• Worldwide consultancy work in the dairy cattle husbandry and feeding sector
• Director of the European Institute for Profitable Milk Production (ineda GmbH) since 2009
